Rutgar Gunarsson - Tony

Tony learned to play the guitar when he was six, but soon followed in his fathers footsteps and took an interest in the bass. At college, Tony learned to play the double bass, and played in the youth orchestra. and college bands, and at seventeen was playing in a jazz quartet in venues across Liverpool. After further education, he pursued a career in the music industry.

Tony has toured with numerous theatre companies, and his ability to play all styles of music led to session work for various record labels. To play the wonderful harmonious bass lines of Abba Tony believes the experiences of reading scores in the pit to playing freestyle on live radio have all been nessecary factors in reproducing the Live Abba Sound.

Although he has used his 'Chapman Stick' on recordings, Tony plays a Fender fretless, a white Kramer aluminum bass, and a seven string Conklin bass live on stage.
